its b.s. that versus cut away from its live coverage of tour of california with only 1.5 miles to go because of hockey preshow. hockey preshow could not wait 2 minutes for the exciting conclusion of the bike race. and the day before there was no live tv because of rain. tour de france and the giro still cover the race when it rains. versus gets a grade f for the last 2 days of tv coverage.
Yeah I experienced that too….It was around 4pm and I got ticked off. I pay 80 dollars a year and when I want to finish watching something…I get cut off??? I mean they don’t even televise a FULL race and they just cut it off? Why can’t the hockey fans wait 20 minutes or so?
Instead I went to cyclingfans.com where they have links to live races of the TOC and Giro on the web.
I just saw the first 3 riders finish. Remembering that Levi was third.

Tour De France Leader Michael Rasmussen Removed From Race?
Why does so much corruption, drugs, and chaos continue to surround even this sport? Michael Rasmussen, Danish rider, who was expected to win on Sunday, has been removed from the race because he failed to show up for 2 drug tests back in May and June and lied about his wearabouts:
No sport is “safe” anymore with so many men screwing up as usual.
bikernoj: I didn’t say he took drugs, but why fail to show up for testing and lie about your whereabouts? His sponsers dropped him also. People saw him in other countries when at the same time he claimed to be in Mexico, dude.
Don’t get mad at me, I am saddened too by all this. These men, you just can’t trust any of them. They just always screw things up for the rest of the sports, but for the world in general.
That’s all I’m saying.
All sports are based upon performance first, fairness second these days. It’s sad. Very sad. Baseball – steroids, cycling – doping, basketball referreeing – mob influenced gambling, football – dog fighting (Mickey Vick). All this in one weeks time. Unbelievable. Makes you want to swear off all sports all together. The media is responsible for driving these athletes to be the best, look the best, perform the best — basically, to be a flawless example of what they portray to be the perfect athletic specimen. And the athletes fall for it. The money, the fame, everything. Society in general accepts these standards as being just that, standards. If you aren’t on the front page headlines, you’re nobody. So…take drugs…they’ll get you on the front page of Sports Illustrated…one way or the other.
